Otari Parish Care & Concern (CARE)
The Otari Parish Council is launching a new initiative. We would like to establish a network of volunteers for care and concern within the parish. The services of these volunteers will be available to people in the parish community who find themselves in a time of need, whether through illness, bereavement, recovery from surgery, having a new baby or some other situation. The Care and Concern volunteers could make meals, do housework, provide transport to hospital appointments ... whatever help is needed on a case by case basis.
To make this initiative viable we need to call on you, the parishioners (both men and women), to sign up to be part of a network of volunteers. Remember the more people on our volunteer list the easier it will be to share the load and reach out to show that Otari Parish cares.
How it will work
When anyone in the community is in need, Father Seph, Mary-Anne or the Parish Office need to be made aware. It will then be determined through a conversation with a Co-ordinator (with the person in need’s permission) if the Parish Care & Concern group can help. The Co-ordinator will then contact the network of volunteers by e-mail/ phone and organise the requested help. We will keep everything confidential and will only become involved if invited to help.
If you would like to become a volunteer for Otari CARE please fill out the form below which is available in pdf or word doc .
When you have finished you can email the form as an attachment to the parish office (scanning in the finished form to your computer) or give to the parish priest or Lay Leader at Sunday Mass, or drop it in to the parish office in Karori one weekday morning.
